Working as a Senior Lecturer/Reader in Business Ethics and Sustainability at Kent Business School is to be part of the 1% of global business schools to gain 'Triple Crown' accreditation from three top business organisations: European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and The Association of MBAs (AMBA). We also gained the Small Business Charter Award in 2018.

As a dual-intensive Business School, our distinctiveness comes from a forward-thinking approach to business education. We place sustainable innovation at the heart of our educational outlook, underpinned by world-class research. We are interdisciplinary by nature, bringing innovative solutions to real-world issues. We are integrated into the local business community as a hub for knowledge creation and exchange. We are proud that our industry collaborations and global partnerships benefit students, businesses and the community. Our commitment to gender equality was recognised by our 2020 Athena SWAN bronze award.

Not only will you be welcomed into the Department of Leadership and Management (L&M), where internationally-recognised colleagues pride themselves on teaching excellence, you will be joining a team of world-leading researchers - indeed, the REF2021 has confirmed KBS as a leading research business school, with 80% of our outputs rated as world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*). We invite applications from dedicated scholars keen to join a dynamic team and make a strong contribution to both research and teaching, as well as our student enterprise and business engagement activities.

Although all cognate areas of Business Ethics and Sustainability will be considered, we are particularly interested in applicants with research expertise in areas that the Department of L&M is looking to grow, including (but not limited to) business ethics and sustainable management, socially responsible management, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability management.

You will have previous teaching experience and should have a clearly defined research agenda with a track record of regularly publishing in top peer-reviewed journals and leading or supporting research projects. Evidence of income generation, impactful research, or corporate engagement is expected.

We encourage applications from research-led educators with experience in demand-driven curriculum development, technology-enabled learning, and/or executive education and Higher and Degree Apprenticeships. We are especially keen to hear from those whose work relates strongly to the School's mission of sustainable innovation.

Although based at Canterbury, you may be expected to take up teaching and other responsibilities at the University's other campuses, study centres and off-campus for the delivery of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships.

Both Canterbury and Medway offer excellent places to live whether urban, rural or coastal living is your preference. There is also access to Outstanding schools in both areas, easy links to central London and Europe via high-speed trains, and our stunning cultural and historical attractions. Kent also offers much in the way of outdoor life as well as an enviable climate. The School offers a competitive salary, generous support for research/scholarship as well as a collegial and cohesive work environment.

If you require further information regarding the application process please contact KBS HR on kbshr@kent.ac.uk quoting ref number: KBS-055-22-R

For an informal discussion, please contact Professor Chidi Ogbonnaya ( C.Ogbonnaya-386@kent.ac.uk ), Head of the Department of Leadership and Management

We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented at this level in this area.

The University of Kent is able to assist with Visa applications where eligible.
