Assistant/Associate Professor, Pharmacy Practice (Ambulatory Care)

St. Louis College of Pharmacy invites applications for a non-tenure-track, twelve-month faculty position at the level of assistant/associate professor in pharmacy practice. Do you want an opportunity to use your clinical, teaching and research talents at a historic pharmacy institution in the center of one of the nations largest medical campuses? Our faculty teach in an integrated curriculum at a unique private university focused on pharmacy and health sciences and practice at one of over a dozen different practice sites throughout the St. Louis metro area in a variety of settings. You can work hand in hand with dedicated practice and pharmaceutical science faculty across a number of specialties to educate the next generation of pharmacists in an environment with a focus on interprofessional education and research partnerships with other institutions.

Youll have the opportunity to:
  • Provide patient-centered, evidence-based, interprofessional patient care services within an Internal Medicine Primary Care setting.
  • Establish/maintain an advanced clinical practice suitable for educating and training Doctor of Pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.
  • Teach in a pharmacy curriculum integrating pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences content in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program.
  • Facilitate and assess student performance during skills lab, practicums and objective structured clinical exams, precept pharmacy students on introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences (ambulatory care APPE), and precept PGY1 pharmacy residents.
  • Develop visibility as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacy practitioner within local, state, and national pharmacy organizations and develop a focus of scholarship in an area of ambulatory care or subspecialty and/or teaching and learning pedagogy.
  • Additional responsibilities include providing service through advising students or student organizations, involvement in professional organizations, and service on College/University committees.


Qualifications
To succeed in this role you will need:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree; at least one year of residency training with an emphasis in ambulatory care pharmacy; PGY2 residency or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Teaching experience, including experience teaching in an ability-based education model, active learning, team-based learning, and other student-centered learning techniques.
  • Eligibility for Missouri pharmacist licensure and board certification in appropriate specialty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
