Are you looking for a role in a thriving school in a Russell Group University?

Do you have significant expertise in initial teacher education in mathematics or science at primary or secondary level?

Are you passionate about developing outstanding teachers and future leaders in education?

Do you have a strong, growing and potentially world-leading research record and a commitment to securing research funding in pedagogical practice, subject pedagogy or teacher development?

Are you delivering an exceptional student/ trainee teacher experience through your outstanding teaching and support?

We are looking for someone able to maintain a research agenda in teacher education, together with taking responsibility for the School's commitment to working with our initial teacher education partners, Red Kite Learning Trust. As Associate Professor, the appointee will initiate and lead in their area of teaching and research particularly at postgraduate level and contribute to the School's strategic direction.

The School covers excellent research and teaching in a wide range of education-related fields including special educational needs, language education (including TESOL), childhood, inclusion and youth and aspects of science education. We would be particularly interested in applications from scholars working in school-based research in STEM subject-based pedagogy (especially primary mathematics), teacher professional knowledge or teacher professional development.

The School of Education values an inclusive working and teaching environment and our aim is to develop a diverse staff and student community reflective of this. We select candidates on the basis of merit and ability and aspire to further diversify our School and Faculty community. We particularly welcome applications from candidates belonging to groups that have been under-represented in the University including, but not limited to: Black, Asian and ethnically diverse people, people who identify as LGBTQ+ and disabled people.
