Job Description
The Quality Assurance Assistant assists the QA Team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Assists with maintenance of training records. Assists with internal and external audits and client visits. Helps maintain reference data. Performs customer service requests for Project Management staff. Works with the laboratory to maintain SOP's and other method performance documentation as directed by the QAM.
Must reside within a commutable distance of a Eurofins EMLab P&K laboratory, as this role will work 3 days in the lab and 2 days remotely each week.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assist with QA system and data audits to ensure laboratory compliance with policies and procedures
Assist in scheduling of proficiency testing samples and other QC samples. Process and report QC samples as routine samples to appropriate agencies.
Assists with customer service requests for Project Management staff, supplies SOP's, certification information, and method information.
Assist operations personnel in writing/revising documents (SOPs, work instructions, data sheets, etc.)
Issue controlled and uncontrolled documents to enforce current policies and SOP's
Assist in maintaining the laboratory's reference data
Prepare or post certification applications
Assist in internal and external audits and client visits
Assist in maintenance of training records for all employees
Assist with maintenance of technical records including SOPs, QC records, laboratory data, etc.
Maintain certifications list on LabServe and public facing websites
Assist in identification of systematic problems within laboratories
Recommend resolutions for ongoing or recurring nonconformance
Ensure maintenance of records archives
Answer questions on methods from laboratory personnel
Laboratory surveillance to ensure equipment calibration
Performs additional tasks as needed and directed by Quality Assurance Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
Education
Education/Experience (BMQ):
Requires demonstrated knowledge of laboratory work, and measurement
Degree in Industrial hygiene, safety, chemistry, biology or related field preferred, but not required.
Experience
Requires 1+ years bench level laboratory experience
Additional Preferences
Experience with environmental microbiology, asbestos, and lead a plus.
Ability And/or Skills (BMQ)
Environmental analytical methods
Environmental regulatory requirements
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT) and data entry
Experience with ISO 17025 and associated preferred, but not required.
Communication skills
Organizational skills
Time management skills
Ability to prioritize
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Information
Position is hourly, full-time (Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm). Must reside within a commutable distance of a Eurofins EMLab P&K laboratory, as this role will work 3 days in the lab and 2 days remotely each week.
