Dean of Students

Creighton Prep is currently accepting applications for Dean of Students beginning in July of 2022.

The Dean of Students collaborates with faculty, staff, students, parents and others in maintaining daily routines, discipline, attendance, health and safety in fulfilling the overall mission of the school.

Major Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains expectations as described in the Student-Parent Handbook
• Serves as primary resource and administrator in the discipline process
• Coordinates attendance procedures
• Manages school safety and student health
• Maintains daily routines including the bell schedule and school supervision
• Supervises large student functions including dances and athletic events
• Serves as contact for wider community with concerns for students or student behavior
• Supervises assistants to the Dean of Students
• Works directly with the Principal in addressing the needs of the school

Qualifications:

• Masters degree or doctorate
• Experience in classroom management and teaching social skills
• Experience in supervising faculty and staff
• Practical knowledge and experience of Jesuit education and Ignatian values in daily life
• Strong oral and written communication skills with adolescents and adults
• Ability to listen to others and facilitate resolutions to problems
• Skill in analyzing and forming effective school policy
• High level of personal integrity
• Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with adolescents
