Description:

GGC invites applicants for a 1-year full-time visiting faculty position in Mathematics, at either the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. Successful candidates will be able to teach math courses that serve the general education core (including introductory Statistics), majors of Biology, Chemistry, IT, and Exercise Science, as well as courses that serve the Mathematics major. The position will begin August 1, 2022.

Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and research, as well as service to the college and community. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, and intentional advising and mentoring of our students (advising and mentoring is expected of all faculty). Other related duties as assigned.

Salary

Commensurate with education and experience with excellent benefits.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum
  • Applicants should hold a Master's degree in the discipline (or a closely related field) on or before the start of the semester, with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours within the discipline.

Preferred
  • Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
  • 1 year teaching experience

Position requires local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Job takes place in normal environmental conditions.
