Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; OR an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field and two years of such experience; OR four years of such experience.

If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency with Python and with relational databases including Oracle. Experience integrating laboratory instrumentation with information systems; experience developing reports displaying requested data extracts; domain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS); and knowledge of bioinformatics and advanced molecular detection.
Responsibilities
The Software Engineer/Developer will maintain and contribute toward the development of applications and processes that support the Wadsworth Center's Public Health Laboratories; assist in the coordination with other developers and LIMS coordinators in implementing new or improved functionality and keeping regulatory compliance; maintain and contribute to activities for internal-facing applications that support automated communication between the LIMS and laboratory instruments; and perform other appropriate related duties.
