Dr. Talbot's research involves identifying strategies to improve CAR T-cell therapy against osteosarcoma and other solid tumors and has a specific focus on metastatic disease. This collaborative lab's work is highly translational as they seek to introduce new CAR-T cell therapies into clinics. The lab functions as an embedded part of the larger Bone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy translational laboratory, and therefore the candidate will be extensively supported by technical and postdoctoral researchers in a highly collaborative and collegial team.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects while supporting the rest of the lab's initiatives, and have experience with tissue culture, transduction, proliferation and migration assays, animal handling, and FLOW Cytometry.
  • Lab experiments
    • to include cell culture, viral transduction, cloning, subcloning, ELISAs
  • Performing flow cytometry and interpreting the results
  • CAR-T therapy studies
  • Handling and maintenance of an immune competent murine model
    • to include immune system profiling and working with a unique osteosarcoma surgery model

Apply to be a part of the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. • Two (2) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required for a Bachelor's degree.
  • No experience is required with a Master's degree.
