Job DescriptionFunction description:Eurofins is seeking a Vice President to operate a successful Biologics contract research operation in Columbia, Missouri. The focus of the operation will be to define the vision and strategies for a world-class biologics laboratory and lead a talented team. This leader establishes biologics platform strategy and manages resources to ensure efficient progression of pipeline programs, confidence in biologic capabilities and foster client relations.

The Vice President will oversee a growing business with a diversified client portfolio of biologics technologies and products including cell and gene therapies. The candidate will provide technical expertise, P&L and tactical oversight for all activities of the biologics business.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Reports to Operations Vice President and manages a talented team of scientists focused on biologics including cell and gene therapies.
  • Sets vision and implements strategies for a world-class biologics contract research organization.
  • Establishes an operational model that optimizes to achieve industry-standard timelines with the flexibility to minimize bottlenecks by scaling resources according to program needs.
  • Provides leadership, strategic oversight, resource management, and organizational framework to ensure timely achievement of pipeline goals.
  • Provides functional leadership for business units including developing strategic plans, ownership of budget and ensuring business units have the right capabilities to deliver.
  • Build a sustainable high-performance team fostering an environment of innovation, entrepreneurialism, collaboration, continuous improvement and people engagement.
QualificationsQualificationsCompetences And Education
  • An advanced degree is preferred in pharmaceutical, chemical, biological sciences or engineering, with at least 15 years of experience with biologics including cell and gene therapy, in addition to at least 8 years in a leadership position.
General knowledge across technical disciplines
  • Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and innovative biologics platform science, technologies and process development.
  • Proficient in quality and regulatory requirements for biologics products and experienced in early-stage development.
  • Strong scientific, strategic, creative and tactical skills with the ability to translate strategy into practical plans.
  • Experience associated with building and leading a business (developing & attracting talent, business development, contracts, P&L management, capital programs)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with scientific and project management staff.
