The University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) provides a regional service to provide Auditory Implants for deaf adults and children situated at the University of Southampton Highfield Campus. USAIS is looking for a highly motivated person to join the multidisciplinary team.

An experienced administrator, you will join our Customer Service Team assisting in the procurement of patient hearing technology and the receiving, management, safe storage and transit of high value auditory implants. You will quickly develop close working relationships with suppliers and be the main point of contact for the administrative processes relating to the repairs of faulty patient equipment returned to the clinic. You will be the first point of contact for patients having problems with their equipment and you will learn the technical skills to enable you to troubleshoot the equipment. You will also be part of the team managing the busy front desk and reception area, acting as the first point of contact for a wide range of visitors, some of whom will be deaf and have communication difficulties associated with their disability.

To be successful, you will demonstrate your ability to be a team player and to be able to build relationships and deliver a customer-focussed service. You will be confident on the telephone and dealing with people face to face and be competent at using Microsoft Office. It would be beneficial if you have experience of working with communication difficulties or deafness and specialist financial management applications such as Agresso along with experience of managing a clinic timetable through a patient management system.

You will be highly motivated to work as part of a dynamic team with minimal supervision and be able to find solutions to challenges. You will need to have an excellent standard of English, good computer skills, have a competent knowledge of Microsoft Office.

A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service clearance at standard level may be required for this role.
