The role
Based in the School of Civil, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (CAME) this open-ended jobshare post is an exciting opportunity to play an active role in the management of student administration and education processes at a time of change and expansion.
What will you be doing?
This is a part time, job share position and the post holder will work together with their jobshare partner and two other Deputy Student Administration Managers (DSAMs), deputising for the Student Administration Manager, particularly in improving the quality of the student experience. Together with their job share, the DSAM will have line management responsibilities for a Senior Student Administrator and four Student Administrators. The DSAM will be aligned to a specified programme within their School, and will own the delivery and improvements to the processes surrounding programmes. The DSAM will also lead on a particular area of responsibility - either Enrolment & Student Experience, Assessment & Feedback, or Curriculum & Programme Management.
The busy, student-facing School team has a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and is an exciting place in which to work.
You should apply if
The post would be suitable to someone with a high standard of interpersonal skills and line management or supervisory experience seeking a new challenge within a School Team. The individual is required to be both a manager and a team player, with an ability to balance both individual and team workloads. Willingness to take initiative and be proactive is key - as is the ability to seek out and make improvements to a process. We are seeking someone able to work in partnership with academic and professional services staff to drive forward change and deliver effective, efficient processes yet be flexible and adaptable to different situations. A strong commitment to equity and diversity is vital.
We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
