JOB SUMMARY

Truvian is looking for a talented Research Associate to become a member of the Assay Development team to assist in the development of Truvians blood analyzer. This is a hands-on, bench-based position with primary responsibilities including, but not limited to, testing on the Truvian instrument following specific protocols, routine operation and maintenance of R&D laboratory equipment, assembly of test parts as required, and documentation of observations and test results. Candidates must have background working in a laboratory environment and be proficient in common laboratory techniques such as pipetting and reagent preparation. This individual will collaborate with scientists and engineers to execute experiments and troubleshoot as necessary. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and superb attention to details.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Broadly, this role is responsible for performing testing on Truvians instrument. The 2nd Shift Research Associate will work from Monday through Friday, 2:00pm 10:30pm. This will require:
  • Perform testing on the Truvian instrument following specific protocols
  • Routine maintenance and operation of R&D laboratory equipment, including day-to-day user maintenance, calibration, and preventative maintenance
  • Assemble test parts as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and detailed record of the testing
  • Provide general lab support, maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment, and assist in restocking of general laboratory supplies and inventory
  • Other duties to be assigned

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in:
  • Strong wet lab skills , including reagent preparation, pipetting, and running assays
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal , verbal and written communication skills
  • Superb attention to detail and ability to carefully follow instructions
  • Must be flexible , forward-thinking, motivated, and able to act independently
  • Basic computer skills in Excel, Word and web applications
  • Demonstrated skill in analytical and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to drive task completion to meet deadlines
  • Prior experience in IVD is a preferred
  • Ability to check for defects and identify and distinguish between colors
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Near Acuity - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded.

    B.S. degree in a related engineering or life science discipline or 5 years of diagnostics industry experience in laboratory setting. Must be familiar with assay development or assay tech transfer methodologies and related techniques.
