Position Description:
Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) is actively seeking candidates for a Scientist/Engineer contractor position to support a Program Manager in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Biological Technologies Office (BTO) located in Arlington, VA. Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a PhD in Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, Animal/Human Physiology, or other relevant field, and carry a breadth of expertise to assess and inform the design of a variety of biotechnologies and applications. Applicants must hold or be able to obtain a security clearance (Secret minimum) and possess excellent organization, communication, and coordination skills. Prior DARPA experience is ideal. Candidates must be able to handle a wide variety of tasks, including briefing support and general administrative actions.
The role involves working on a small team supporting the execution of existing research programs as well as the design, development and source selection for new programs. Candidates will be required to work closely with the PM as well as other technical support staff. Ideal candidates for this position will have experience in one or more of the following disciplines, with the breadth of expertise to assess and inform a range of technologies and potential applications: (1) Human / microbiome interactions (e.g., skin, gut), (2) Microbial / microbiome engineering (e.g., environmental, animal, human), and/or (3) Physiological adaptations for extreme environments (e.g., temperature, altitude).
