Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for executing complex experimental protocols and procedures within a defined project framework and timeline.
  • Design experimental protocols, technical reports, and summaries of assigned research projects under minimal supervision.
  • Tabulate and analyze experimental data for all phases of a project utilizing statistical programs.
  • Investigate and contribute to the development of new methods and technologies for project and process advancement.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records of experiments and results, and assist in identifying and troubleshooting of unexpected results.
  • Contribute to overall team objectives.
  • May provide guidance to lower level personnel.
  • Maintain lab equipment, related records, and coordinate use of lab equipment.
  • Assist in the operation of specialized and automated equipment.
  • Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements.
  • Promote a safe work environment. May provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment. Participates in Environmental, Health & Safety programs. Addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified. Notifies supervisor and Safety Officer(s) of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, in Biology or related scientific discipline.
  • One to two years' research/laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree required or one year related research/laboratory experience with a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Familiar with routine laboratory procedures, experimental protocols, and overall lab organization. Ability to keep neat, accurate, and complete records and logs.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory techniques and methods, including basic cellular biology techniques. Experience in cell culture, antibody staining, and flow cytometry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute defined experiments of simple to moderate complexity and prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses of assigned research projects.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Practical knowledge of laboratory instrumentation operation.
  • Must possess computer skills to include, but not limited to, Powerpoint, Excel and Word.
  • Must have superior interpersonal, communication and organization skills and the ability to work across company disciplines and functional units.
