Status: Full Time

Summary: The Assistant Dean of Nursing will help provide oversight over the nursing program at the campus and will contribute to meeting educational outcome goals and growth through the proper management of the college's resources. The Assistant Dean organizes, supervises and directs a professional staff, including full-time and part-time faculty, to ensure curricula are current and consistently delivered in an environment and manner conducive to learning in accordance with College objectives.

  • Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others.
  • Solid writing skills to communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including ability to project voice and be clearly understood when speaking in front of a group.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and codes of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Commitment to the success of the students and the school.
  • Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • MSN Degree required.
  • One (1) year's continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience direct patient care as a registered nurse; or equivalent experience and/or education, as determined by the board.
  • R.N. License active in California.
  • Active BLS for Healthcare Providers
  • Must demonstrate competency in the assigned teaching field, such as academic or vocational training and credentials, related work experience, licensure, or certification. Teaching and/or supervisory experience desirable.
  • Must have 2 years (FT) teaching experience and 1 year of administration experience.
