The researcher in this position will be appointed to, and build a career at, the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado.

The successful candidate will be supervised by a physician-researcher and principal investigator, Dr. Jason Hoppe, DO. Funding support comes from project grants from both private and federal sources (e.g., US Department of Defense, Bureau of Justice Assistance, SAMHSA, National Institutes of Health). This research team focuses on studies related to appropriate use of opioids, safe opioid prescribing, pain management, and treatment of individuals with opioid use disorder to address the opioid epidemic. The candidate will be part of a highly collaborative and exciting team, and will be supervised and mentored by Dr. Hoppe, other faculty and staff co-investigators, and key stakeholders. Together with the team, this candidate will contribute to current and future research questions, quantitative analyses, and manuscript writing for peer-review, external grant funding, and progress reports.

This position will focus on the research teams funded work, and also allow opportunities for the candidate to pursue and possibly lead specific new analyses or projects. The University of Colorado has a mentoring culture and an extensive infrastructure for education, training, and career development.
