Position Description:
Our Research and Development (R&D) team within the Protein and Cell Analysis business develops new products that empower our customers to discover and gain a deeper understanding of how cells work and enable research in cell biology, immunology, oncology, and infectious disease. We utilize the latest innovations in dyes and instrumentation, combined with a growing antibody portfolio to expand the capabilities of flow cytometry, western blotting, and imaging. What Will You Do?
- Lead projects to validate and support the commercialization of new reagents for flow cytometry
- Use knowledge of immune cell phenotypes to independently craft, execute, and troubleshoot experiments
- Use spectral cytometry technology to design and implement large multicolor flow panels and work with sophisticated data sets
- Maintain mammalian cell culture, working with both primary cells and cell lines, including the preparation of human and mouse primary immune cells
- Manage multiple experiments concurrently to meet product release timelines
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory
- Prepare and present written and oral reports to manager and extended R&D teams
- Communicate effectively and work efficiently with team members across the organization to support product development
- Perform other responsibilities to support the needs of the group, as assigned
Qualifications:
How Will You Get Here?
Education/Experience:
- PhD in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, or related field, with 0-2 years of industry experience, or Master's degree in the same field with 4+ years of industry experience, or Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of industry experience.
- Must have hands-on experience performing multicolor flow cytometry experiments, including sample preparation, data acquisition, analysis and interpretation of results, and troubleshooting
- Strong immunology background, including experience preparing and culturing human and mouse primary immune cells and familiarity with the phenotypes of primary immune cell subsets
- Experience with spectral flow cytometry preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and FlowJo software
- Capable of multi-tasking and being flexible to meet changing priorities
- Must be highly organized and have strong time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a multi-disciplinary team to support a positive work environment
