Responsibilities We are looking for a part-time research assistant to help with FSU-wide scientific, technical, and computational asset compilation, documentation, update, and upload. The work will involve downloading/uploading asset data from a database, department-wide cross checking of equipment against data, and adding/correcting scientific equipment information and documentation in consultation with various departmental core facility personnel. The work will include the following:
Revising long and short description of scientific equipment
Categorizing equipment into groups and sub groups
Documenting current status of equipment, cost of usage, and usage requirements
Photographic documentation of equipment and accessories along with FSU property tag number
Documenting manufacture and instrument information such as model numbers
Collecting operating procedures, protocols, and manuals of equipment
Uploading, downloading, and correcting the data in database, and
Other related tasks assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications The person should have some experience with scientific, technical, and computational equipment. The person should be able to follow directions, examples and work independently. The person should pay attention to details such as model numbers, accessories, and modifications. The person should have strong interpersonal skills and should be able to work with various departments and FSU-wide core facility personnel and a high school diploma and one year of experience. Majority of the documentation work will need to be completed during the open business hours of the University.
Preferred A person with science/engineering background is preferred. A person who can document details and some knowledge of database and web sites will be a plus

Anticipated Salary Range $13 per hour for up to 10 hours per/week but flexible to suit the need. Currently, the position is available for the summer semester but will likely to continue in the fall semester
Pay Plan This is an OPS/temporary Job.
Schedule If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5. Hours may vary; however, majority of the documentation work will need to be completed during the open business hours of the University.
