ROLE SUMMARY

This is a future-looking, above disease strategic role. As the healthcare landscape evolves, this leader is expected to help keep the North America Oncology Field Medical group on top of healthcare trends and how they impact our data generation and other work. This may include consideration of key stakeholder engagement, special populations in oncology, new assets for EDG/BD and other such elements. This above-brand Senior Director colleague will be an integral member of the Oncology Organized Customer Field Medical Leadership team, reporting into the Organized Customer Group Lead and providing clear and actionable strategic insights about the evolving oncology landscape. Integration of understanding of patient, healthcare professional and organizational insights will be critical. Patient centricity and patient-focused issues will be at the heart of this role, including considerations around data that enhance patient care, lessening disparities and other key areas identified.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create a vision and strategy to help NA Pfizer Oncology to continue to thrive in the evolving Healthcare Landscape, taking into consideration evolution in healthcare reform, organized customers, speed of data evolution, real world data trends, changing demographics, etc.
  • Set a strategy for key stakeholder engagement (examples may include cooperative groups, payer organizations, non-MD HCPs, other organized customers, patient or professional organizations, data companies, etc)
  • Cross-functional leadership to pull insights and build medical strategy to help all disease areas act efficiently and generate smart data to benefit the treating HCP and patient.
  • Partner with groups involved in RWD to consider how data can be leveraged across the NA group to support safe and effective use of our medications.
  • Develop and execute above brand strategies across the oncology portfolio in partnership with the medical LT.
  • Serve as point of contact for internal stakeholders to provide expertise on oncology landscape from medical perspective
  • Partner with Global Medical and US Commercial for emerging assets, business development and other areas to provide key regional input, which will require efficiently collecting relevant information from key stakeholders.
  • Consider timing and placement of EDG assets across our portfolio and resourcing of same.
  • Identify synergies and areas of redundancy across brand teams and partner with operations and Leadership Team to improve efficiency
  • Aid Leadership Team in fostering a strong environment of collaboration, team work, scientific excellence and medical professionalism.
  • Lead Organized Customer Medical approach to Oncology Congresses, assign key coverage, responsible for gathering medical insights, and producing Organized Customer focused findings reports
  • Serve a POC for both the Internship and Organized Customer Fellowship programs
  • Serve as lead for all Organized Customer Advisory Boards, leading the direction, operations, clinical focus, and insight documentation to assist in setting the future strategic direction for the Organized Customer Medical Team.
  • Assist Organized Customer Leadership team in assessing medical metrics, impact & actions from customer facing engagements on a monthly basis


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • MD required
  • 5 or more years of relevant clinical practice experience, including significant experience with patient care
  • Medical Affairs experience required
  • 5+ years of Oncology experience
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated track record of high performance and producing outstanding results.
  • Capable of comprehending and communicating in a clear, concise manner a large amount of scientific information.
  • Significant, direct experience with matrix leadership and demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build internal and external relationships through partnering, anticipating needs, fulfilling expectations.
  • Very strong strategic skills including creativity and effectiveness in proactively identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership excellence, proven ability to motivate and lead people in a complex, changing environment.
  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, and effectively lead in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrates a strong patient-centric, customer focused approach with the utmost medical professionalism
