Effective September 1, 2022 a full-time permanent faculty position is available in the Division of Neurology, Department of Paediatrics at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; a fully affiliated hospital of the University of Toronto. 

The successful candidate will be an academically oriented pediatric neurologist-epileptologist with specialty training in Pediatric Neurology and have completed a Clinical Epilepsy Fellowship with training in both clinical epilepsy and pediatric electroencephalography (EEG).  Experience with invasive monitoring, epilepsy surgery and neurophysiology is required. Formal certification in EEG will be an asset. 

Clinical duties will include the care of children admitted to the epilepsy monitoring unit and the general neurology service, inpatient consultations for neurology and epilepsy, ambulatory clinics, and interpretation of routine and advanced EEG and epilepsy surgery evaluations.  Education and supervision of residents and other learners in clinical neurology, epilepsy and neurophysiology will be integrated into these duties.  Opportunities for research support are available for applicants with an established research program.

All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto.  Rank and salary ($210,000-$250,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package that includes medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.
