Our specialty products business unit designs, replicates or refines formulations, optimizes analytical methods and develops scalable production processes of fine chemicals with a range of applications, such as biocompatible polymers and polymer precursors for medical devices, bioresorbable polymers for drug elution systems, high-end specialty industrials, energetic additives, and hard-to-find chemicals.

At Polysciences, we take chemistry beyond the ordinary. We produce and sell specialty chemicals for several leading industries including medical device, pharmaceuticals, electronics, academic research and personal care. We need driven, self-motivated team players to support our rapidly growing operations and customer base. We are hiring a 1st shift QC Chemist in our Quality Control group who will bring an independent capability of analyzing routine commercial samples with an emphasis on HPLC/DAD/MSD and GC/FID/MSD in a regulated environment.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Facilitate commercial release testing of finished goods and raw materials in accordance with SOPs/cGMP/ISO regulations.
Capable of independent operation of HPLC/DAD/MSD and GC/FID/MSD.
Proficient level of knowledge of analytical troubleshooting.
Continue to support QC Laboratory audit ready status with regards to regulatory expectations.
Proficient GDP documentation (hard copy and electronic) of testing results and assurance of laboratory data integrity.
Experience with electronic QC data entry, preferably using an SAP/ERP system.
Experience with USP-NF interpretation and testing.
Support on-time performance in the QC lab against customer deliverable timetables.
Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of QC lab equipment to minimize downtime.
Assist with OOS investigations and validation activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment (5S) for all QC areas.
Keep Supervisor and Team Lead informed of any quality related issues that arise in the laboratory.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

BS/MS in Chemistry with at least two (2) years QC experience in a regulated environment.
Experience working in a fast-paced QC lab environment.
Required QC equipment experience: HPLC/DAD/MSD, GC/FID/MSD.
Recommended QC equipment experience: GPC/SEC, Karl Fischer, F-AA, ICP/MSD, NMR.
Software recommendations: Agilent OpenLab, Waters Empower3, Agilent Chemstation, Agilent Mass Hunter.
Preferred exp: LIMS/SAP/ERP, Review, FTIR, UV/Vis, KF, Brookfield Viscosity, Wet Chemistry
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel.
Technical writing experience is a plus.
