Summary of Job Duties:

The Sam M. Walton College of Business invites applications for a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor to teach in the Information Systems department to begin August 2021 focused on Business Analytics. In addition to a specialty in Business Analytics, the ability and expertise to teach in at least one of the following areas is preferred: cybersecurity, application development, database/data warehouse, systems analysis and design, blockchain, and/or enterprise resource planning. A Teaching Assistant Professor is expected to teach eight courses per year with a mix of face-to-face and online courses, as needed, normally with no more than two course preparations per semester. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; benefits are competitive.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Academically qualified per AACSB accreditation standards

* Doctorate in information systems, business analytics, or a closely related field, prior to the position start date, from a nationally or internationally accredited university conferred by the start of employment

* Ability to publish in peer-reviewed information systems or related field journals

Preferred Qualifications:

* Documented excellence and experience in teaching

* Experience in both face-to-face and online course delivery

* Experience and expertise in teaching courses focused on applied business analytics, data "wrangling" using both interface driven (e.g., SAS Enterprise Guide) and program driven (e.g.,Python) applications

* Experience and expertise in teaching courses focused business cybersecurity, application development, database/data warehouse, systems analysis and design, blockchain, and/or enterprise resource planning courses

The Information Systems Department: The department has 13 tenured or tenure-track faculty positions, including 5 positions with endowed chairs or professorship, in addition to 6 teaching faculty members, and 4 full-time instructors. The department consistently ranks in the top-10 among business schools for publications in Information Systems Research and MIS Quarterly. Faculty research interests include: online communities and commerce; IT strategy, investments, and business value; IT personnel, training and education; privacy, security, and ethics; social networks; enterprise systems; big data and analytics; system development and adoption, decision making and aids; mobile computing; and gamification.

The Information Systems Department has an active research-oriented Ph.D. program, a Master of Information Systems program, a Master of Applied Business Analytics, a Graduate Certificate, and a BSBA major in Information Systems as well as business minors in business analytics, cybersecurity, blockchain, and ERP. The department recently created a Blockchain Center of Excellence, and has a world-class Enterprise Systems Program that provides our students experience with industrial-strength technology systems, thanks to more than $150 Million in gifts from our technology platform partners- IBM, Microsoft, SAP and Teradata. Enterprise Systems also hosts a number of databases including Acxiom, Dillard's, Nielsen, Tyson Foods and Sam's Club and receives support from prominent companies such as J. B. Hunt, Tyson Foods and Walmart.

The Sam M. Walton College of Business: The Sam M. Walton College of Business has more than 6,000 students. The Walton College has an innovative cross-functional business core program that focuses on business processes, and several new cross-disciplinary minors and concentrations.
