The Meteorological Measurement System (MMS) is an airborne instrument that provides calibrated,
science quality, in situ state measurements of static pressure, static temperature, and three-dimension
wind.

Responsibilities:

Develop/upgrade embedded PC/104 format interrupt driven multi-tasking real-time data
acquisition software for on-board flight software using C which includes:
Interface with INS (Inertial Navigation System) and GPS systems via Mil-std-1553,
High Speed Serial Port and RS-232.
Interface with digital pressure transducers via serial ports.
Interface with IRIG signals and analog signals.
Interface with aircraft's computer in flight for getting aircraft's navigation data and
sending MMS data via Ethernet or RS-232.
Manage IT network and communication for real-time airborne data display via Mission
Tools Suite (MTS).
Ensure continued functionality of the flight software in the field for science missions.
Developing LabVIEW routines to simulate, monitor and analyze science data.
Developing IGOR routines to analyze and present science data.
Manage MMS web page.

Tasks and Requirements:

Participate NASA science missions in the field.
Provide instrument data acquisition software support.
Manage network communication for real-time airborne data display on MTS
Perform pre-flight checkup, in-flight data monitoring and post flight data archiving.
Domestic and international travels for the length of 2-3 weeks are required.
Develop a Linux based data acquisition software for a new MMS airborne system which
will be served as a facility instrument on NASA DC-8.
Upgrade and maintain existing MMS data acquisition software system.
Computer skills requirement: C, DOS, Linux, LabView, IGOR, HTML

2-5 years experience preferred
