We are delighted that you are interested in finding out more about our current vacancy for the role of Lecturer in Art and Design (0.5 FTE) in the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology.

The School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology is a leading centre for practice-based education in the creative disciplines. The School's activities are organised into four Directorates, currently totalling around 4,800 students: Art and Design; Creative Technology, Journalism, Politics and Contemporary History; Film and Broadcast Media; and Performance, Music, English and Dance.

This is an academic role across postgraduate art and design programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of our suite of Master's programmes: Contemporary Fine Art, Visual Communication, and Socially Engaged Photography. You will have specialist knowledge and demonstrable research within one or more of these subject areas. You will work closely with the programme leader while contributing teaching to specialist and shared modules. You will support the development of the programme developing live projects and placements with industry partners. As part of a diverse programme of events, the postgraduate suite collaborates annually on an international symposium with Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool in addition to live projects with major galleries and creative industries within the North West. Each pathway encourages students to explore and refine practical, Page 2 of 7 intellectual and research skills relevant to their chosen professional pathway. The student experience is informed by a rigorous investigation of the relationship of theory and practice. You will ensure that the curriculum is contemporaneous and informed by your own continuous research alongside your academic role. There will be opportunity to supervise postgraduate research students relevant to your subject specialism.

You will have relevant experience of teaching academic programmes in Higher Education, as well as recent professional experience within the subject. You will also have an established or emerging research profile.

This is a full-time fractional permanent position, and the starting salary is £42,149 per annum (pro rata).
