Our client located in Skokie; IL is seeking a temp-to-hire, full time Analytical Chemist. May require working occasional overtime. Work will be performed in a laboratory environment. This work is done in support of enhancing the quality of construction through efforts in the laboratory and no travel is expected with this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform appropriate routine or specialized laboratory procedures to prepare and run test specimens, compile data for documentation of test procedures and prepare reports, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, maintain logs and required documentation and report problems to Group Director.
Preferred Experience:
UV-Vis Spectroscopy, X-ray Diffraction and Fluorescence, Auto titrator, Atomic Absorption, Thermal and Particle Size Analysis and Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry;
0-2 years of relevant chemistry lab experience;
Familiarity with standard wet chemistry techniques;
Familiar with Calorimetry testing, Infrared Spectroscopy and Standard lab equipment.
Strong verbal and written skills and familiarity with MS Word & Excel.
