Research Associate

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced biotech service company located in San Diego, California and receive training in cutting-edge, drug-discovery models, imaging, and analysis techniques. Applicants should have a passion for mammalian cell culture and fluorescence microscopy.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Biology, Biological Engineering, or related fields
• Candidates may have 0-5 years of laboratory experience gained after graduation
• Successful candidates will be adept at multi-tasking and have exceptional attention to detail

Preferred

• 1 year of molecular biology experience
• Experience with fluorescence microscopy
• Experience with mammalian cell culture
• Ability to code in Python or equivalent is a plus

Depending on your level of experience, the responsibilities of the role will vary but may include:

• Routine maintenance of mammalian cell culture
• Human primary cell culture
• Human iPS-derived neuronal cultures
• Treatment of samples using automated dispensers
• Immunofluorescence staining
• Operation of automated liquid-handling robotics
• Imaging of samples using automated high-content microscopes
• Work closely with a team of Ph.D. project leads to accomplish tasks
