Columbus Technical College is seeking an individual to serve as an adjunct instructor in our Carpentry/Cabinetmaking Department. Under general supervision, this individual will prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction; evaluate students progress in attaining goals, objectives, and student learning outcomes; academically advise students; attend faculty development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences as needed. This position is part-time/exempt.

Please note the following information regarding this position:
  1. May be required to teach high school students
  2. May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County)
  3. May require travel

  • Assist in developing program and course outlines, goals and objectives;
  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses;
  • Evaluates students progress in attaining goals and objectives;
  • Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate;
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area;
  • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students;
  • Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Carpentry or Cabinetmaking or related field from an accredited college or technical institution
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in the Carpentry or Cabinetmaking field
  • Basic Computer Skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training or teaching experience within the carpentry/cabinetmaking field.


Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
