Wilmington College welcomes applicants for the position of Visiting Professor of English. This is a full time, non-tenure, 9-month position on our main campus in Wilmington, Ohio, beginning the Fall Semester in August 2022. This position is for a 1-year term with the possibility of renewal/conversion.

We seek colleagues who value contemporary approaches to the instruction and development of Composition/Writing Studies, and who strive to create an atmosphere of inclusive learning and expression. Responsibilities will focus on teaching and coordination of entry-level composition courses and developing underprepared students for success in their college careers. Additional teaching responsibilities within the field will be assigned as available. Within the learning community, institutional service work will also involve reasonable expectations of committee participation, student-life involvement, and recruitment activities.

Candidates must hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Composition/Writing Studies (or an equivalent degree in a related field in English Studies, provided the program of study included graduate-level coursework in Composition/Writing Studies) by August 2022. Candidates must have experience with successful teaching of Composition/Writing Studies and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including experience working with diverse and exceptional populations.
