The Department of Occupational Therapy in the College of Health Sciences at Marquette University invites applications for a full-time appointment as Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the newly developing entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) Program. This is a twelve-month, non-tenured faculty position. Rank and salary commensurate with credentials and experience. The successful applicant will join an innovative team in the didactic and clinical development and implementation of the OTD program in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) educational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include course development and teaching related to one's area of expertise, program evaluation, student advisement, (may include mentoring and advisement of doctoral capstone students per ACOTE standards), assessment of student competency and professional behavior, supervision, and service to the Department, University and community. Must perform additional duties as assigned by the Chair of the OT Department and/or the Dean of the College and fulfill roles as necessary to accomplish program objectives and the mission of the College and University. Commitment to professional development, scholarly achievement, and clinical practice is expected.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum qualifications: an earned doctoral degree from a USDE regionally accredited institution; current Wisconsin licensure as an occupational therapist (or eligibility for licensure) in good standing; current National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT); at least 3 years clinical practice experience as an Occupational Therapist. The successful candidate will promote and demonstrate professional behavior consistent with the standards of the occupational therapy profession and be committed to the core values of a Jesuit university.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Teaching experience at the postsecondary level with documented expertise in area of instruction/teaching responsibilities, evidence of engagement in scholarly work. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: adult rehabilitation and physical disability, orthopedics, kinesiology, assistive technology.
