The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Loyola Marymount University invites applications for a one-year, visiting assistant professor of Spanish position to begin August 15, 2022. This is a full-time, nine-month, non tenure-track position. We are seeking a candidate who would teach three four credit courses per semester, including lower and upper division language courses, Introduction to Literature, or upper division courses in the area of specialization in Spanish. This position might be renewed a maximum of 2 times.
Applicants must demonstrate teaching excellence at the college level and possess native/near native ability in Spanish. A PhD or ABD in Spanish is required.
To apply, please send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, three letters of recommendation (one from a teaching supervisor), sample syllabi, complete sets of student teaching evaluations (quantitative and qualitative), a short teaching sample video link, and a copy of the terminal degree transcript. Final application deadline June 1st 2022. Application materials (in pdf format) should be uploaded along with the application via the LMU Human Resources online application portal. Workday has a limitation on the number of documents an applicant can upload (5 documents) as well as size limitation (5 MB).
