Riverside Research is seeking a Senior Accountant who will work out of our company Headquarters located in Crystal City, VA. We offer free garage parking and a hybrid telework schedule. We are growing and we're looking for someone to grow with us.

Job Description:
  • Assist with the month/year-end close by preparing journal entries, research and analyze transactions, and revenue recognition
  • Maintain and track fixed assets across multiple locations; calculate and record monthly depreciation expense
  • Prepare business registration, renewals, census surveys, and property tax returns
  • Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation and subledgers
  • Support annual and other external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries
  • Create, revise and update Policy, Process and Procedures as directed
  • Provide back up support for Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Billing, as needed
  • Backup travel and p-card administrator
  • Support department special projects relating to budgets, retirement plans, certifications, new system implementations, and process improvements
  • Identify solutions to resolve accounting issues, including researching FAR, CAS and GAAP
  • Provide guidance and direction as part of daily interactions with other senior and staff accountants

  • Minimum 5 years of Accounting Experience, preferably in the Defense Government Contracting Industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA preferred
  • 5 years Deltek Costpoint 8.0 or higher, including Business Intelligence (BI) experience
  • Understanding of GAAP (Accounting Principles), FASB, and DCAA rules and regulations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, under frequently changing priorities and deadlines
  • Intermediary Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint tools
  • Strong Oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with multiple levels of management
  • Excellent Problem Solving and Analytical Skills
  • Some previous or current Supervisory experience desired
