The Marine Geosciences Department at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is seeking a full-time lecturer who will teach non-major and major introductory geology courses such as GSC 101 (Evolution of the Solar System), GSC 102 Evolution of the Biosphere, GSC 105 (The Global Environment), GSC 106 (Geological Influences on Society), GSC 107 (Natural Disasters), GSC 108 (The Geologic Record), and GSC 110 (Earth Systems). Potential to teach upper-level major courses based on background and interests.

Lecturer will teach 12 credits/units in the fall and spring semesters. They will meet in each class 3 hours per week, prepare class material, lecture, grad examinations and provide grades. Must meet with students as needed.

The Department of Marine Geosciences is launching a Master of Professional Science degree in Environmental Geology. There likely exists the possibility that the successful applicant will be able to engage in the launch and teaching of this new program and defray effort in our undergraduate mission.

To be eligible for appointment, candidates must hold a PhD in geoscience (broadly defined) or related field at the time of appointment.
