*Summary of Duties:*
The *Laboratory Assistant 1* provides laboratory support for basic or applied science teaching programs in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Under general supervision, this positions assists in the anatomical preparation of specimens for the teaching museum.
*Required Qualifications:*

* High school graduation OR equivalent education/experience.

* Must be able to lift at a minimum 75 lbs.

* Must have completed VET_PH 308 (Functional Anatomy of Domestic Animals), completed an equivalent anatomy course, or take the course at the next earliest class offering.

* Must have, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license.

*Preferred Qualifications: *

* A Bachelor's degree with major study in a basic applied science and 6 months experience working with anatomical specimens.

* Experience preparing freeze-dried, skeletal, plastinated, and other anatomical specimens.

* Experience calculating and administering anesthesia to large and small animals.

* Experience in proper and safe techniques for comfortable restraint of both large and small domestic animals species.

*Monthly Salary: *Range 38, $2,999-3,887 - Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
