Position Summary:

To participate in the production of quality biochemicals from raw materials to approved finished goods. To maintain a safe, clean working environment in accordance with the standards of good manufacturing practices, ISO 9001, and OSHA.

Location: Rockford, IL

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory operations and complete documentation associated with raw material, bulk compound ulation, and intermediate and finished good testing
  • Draft and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new procedures and equipment
  • Calibration of specified laboratory equipment/instruments
  • Serve on New Product Commercialization (NPC) teams. Specifically, work with the Technical Leader and Marketing to develop meaningful product specifications based on process capability
  • Train new ASL associates in procedures and techniques
  • Participate in decisions for setting specifications for raw materials, finished goods and bulk chemicals for the Large Volume/Custom chemical business
  • Manufacture biochemical products consistent with company quality and customer service requirements
  • Improve processes as necessary with emphasis on safety, product quality and cost savings
  • Oversee the acquisition, storage, handling, inventory and disposal of supply chemicals in accordance with company policies
  • Organize, standardize and maintain records associated with production operations in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain an audit-ready working environment at all times

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Minimum B.S. degree in chemistry or related science, with 2-5 years experience; or an M.S. degree, with 2 years experience
  • Position requires the ability to work independently, to be detail-oriented and accurate
  • Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effectively communicate with customers, government representatives, and company associates
  • Working knowledge of common analytical techniques utilized in chemical and/or biochemical manufacturing
