Position Description

Concordia University seeks applicants for a full-time, twelve-month, accounting faculty position at the CUAA Ann Arbor, MI campus. The successful candidate will be innovative and committed to advancing the accounting program by further developing teaching excellence and scholarly research.

The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and quantitative business. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports directly to the Chair of Quantitative Business.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

* Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and quantitative business programs
* Assist with the development of curriculum and assessment for traditional and accelerated learning modalities
* Mentor students seeking to pursue accounting careers
* Comply with University and accrediting body policies and standards
* Serve on University and school committees
* Serve as a role model for scholar-practitioner research and teaching excellence
* Perform other duties that align with the University and School of Business strategic priorities
* Depending on qualifications, candidates may serve as the Chair of the Quantitative Business Department
* May perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

* An active member of a Christian church
* Master's Degree in Accounting, or MBA with at least 18 graduate hours in Accounting from a regionally accredited university
* Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level accounting courses
* Commitment to teaching excellence, innovative curriculum development and delivery
* Willingness to teach classes face-to-face and online
* Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds
* Ability to use technology in instruction and advising
* A high standard of professional integrity, flexibility, strong team-building skills, and ability to work in complex settings
* Willingness to earn a terminal degree and contribute to research and scholarship
* Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Preferred Qualifications

* Earned doctorate in a business-related field, or another field with successful management-level business experience
* Professional license or designation, such as CPA or CMA
* Ability and qualifications to teach across business disciplines
* Evidence of scholarly/research productivity appropriate for an institution of higher education
* Experience in developing and teaching online courses
* Willingness to teach basic finance, economics, or data analytics course to round out teaching load
* Potential Interest in serving as the Quantitative Department Chair

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
