The role
The School Executive Administrator role is based in the School Executive Team and works closely with the School Senior Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies. This role is full time for the 6 month period of the role.
What will you be doing?
Key duties include (but not confined to) supporting the School as a first point of contact for enquiries and as a liaison point for all relevant internal and external contacts. These may be queries related to finance and HR processes and facilities matters, but may encompass other areas.
The Executive Team is a core service on campus, therefore the role holder would need to be available to work on campus across the week to ensure the team can provide campus cover Monday to Friday. During the 'Blended Working' pilot the team cover the service on a rota basis, during which each team member works 2-3 days on campus. The needs of the School are being reviewed during this pilot, therefore this is the possibility that the required working hours on campus may increase above this over the course of this pilot.
You should apply if
Applicants must have a proven track record in administration. They will have excellent customer service and communication skills and must be able to form effective relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels. They must be highly organised, with a flexible, proactive and supportive approach to work, with a friendly and positive disposition.
Experience of the following tools (or equivalent) to support teams in delivering their core service is desirable; Office 365 sharepoint groups and intranet, T4 web administration, using ERP including for purchasing goods and services, knowledge of University HR policies.
Whilst the role holder will have delegated tasks, they will also be expected to organise their own day-to-day work to meet clear objectives, providing an effective service.
We welcome applications from all members of our community and are particularly encouraging those from diverse groups, such as members of the LGBT+ and BAME communities, to join us.
