This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Graduate to fast-track their career development as a Data Scientist in this exciting Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate position. Hilltop Digital Labs Ltd (HD-Labs) are a digital health start-up company providing digital services to improve citizens access to public services. With a growing reputation in data orchestration and analytics clients include several NHS organisations including newly formed Integrated Care Systems, Community Healthcare Providers and NHS England.

This post is a dynamic role and in collaboration with clinicians and patients is looking to develop a Waiting Well tool to support clinical decision makers to use the best information available to prioritise waiting lists and signpost people to appropriate support, addressing the issue of the growing number of people waiting for NHS treatment.

Digitisation of business processes in healthcare is transforming the way patients and professionals engage in the healthcare sector. HD-Labs are focused on the development of digital tools to reduce non-attendance, increase patient engagement and optimise matching of patients to treatment protocols, enhancing productivity and facilitating the delivery of high-quality and supportive services.

This Knowledge Transfer Partnership will deliver a real-world solution to a critical strategic issue for HD-Labs by enabling the integration of their 3 key service lines of data orchestration, conversational intelligence, and quality assurance / analytics into an enterprise solution.

The postholder will be the catalyst for change, spearheading the creation of innovative R&D with the KTP project equipping the KTP Associate with unique technical as well as transferable skills in order for them to be the change agent within the company.

The successful candidate will undertake a 24-month collaborative project between HD-Labs and the University of Salford (School of Science, Engineering and Environment). Based in Stockport, SK1, you will be supported by the staff from the company and an academic team from the University of Salford whilst undertaking your scientific research work. The post holder from their involvement in this programme will also gain a deeper understanding of research and development in turning an idea into commercial reality.

The appointed candidate will receive extensive practical and formal training, gain highly desirable specialist business skills, broaden knowledge and expertise within an industrially relevant project, and gain valuable experience from their commercial and academic mentors. The KTP Associate will benefit from a Personal Development Budget of £4,000 and will have the opportunity to register free of charge for a postgraduate research qualification.

Skills required: Candidates should possess A minimum 2.1 BEng or BSc in Computer Science or related discipline (MSc in Data Science Preferred). The successful candidate will be encouraged to register for a higher degree (fees waived).
