Job Description:

The Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) located in Cocoa, Florida, is currently seeking an associate in Research in Building Simulation Development. The selected candidate will help develop state-of-the-art energy and indoor air quality building simulation models, as well as support lab and field research investigating new technologies for energy-efficient envelopes, HVAC and water heating systems, smart controls, grid-enabled buildings, energy storage, and integration of solar and electric vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree in engineering, architecture, or science from an accredited institution and a minimum of three years of experience assessing building performance, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and five years of building science experience. A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in a buildings-related or programming discipline, or significant graduate level course work in building science or programming topics, may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with:

* Knowledge of building science, HVAC controls, and building simulation.
* Experience programming code beyond classroom applications.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure earning position.

This position is funded by contracts and grants and is contingent upon available funding.

Occasional travel to conferences is expected.
