R&D Scientist - Oilfield Chemicals

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a R&D Scientist position at an oilfield chemicals company in The Woodlands, TX. The overall responsibility of the position is to contribute to and participate in research & development projects for oilfield chemical applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the company's technical and business teams to execute technology development projects
• Initiate and propose new innovative formulations and solutions for the oil and gas stimulation chemicals market
• Conception, design, plan, execution, and interpretation of experiments
• Conduct laboratory tests for developing new and improved products and technologies
• Develop and maintain advanced laboratory testing methods and equipment including rheometers and flow loops
• Communicate with customers regarding the company's products and technologies
• Write and contribute to industry technical papers and publications
• Participate in industry technical conferences and events
• Contribute to patent filings and execution
• Travel to provide technical support to manufacturing facilities and customers

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar disciplines with related industry experience
• PhD with a focus on Polymer Chemistry and Rheology testing is preferred
• Excellent problem solving and laboratory skills and proactive attitude for prompt response to technical and business challenges
• Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
• Team work attitude and demonstrated customer focus is a must
• Able to travel up to 10% of the time

This is a temp to hire position with a Monday - Friday, day shift work schedule. Compensation is commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience.
