General Summary of Position:
Responsibilities include classroom and clinical teaching in the in accelerated BSN nursing program of designated university that MedStar Washington Hospital (MWHC) Center has a contractual academic-practice partnership. Serves as Master Teacher by providing faculty development and monitoring to Clinical Nursing instructors, Nurse Educators and advanced Nurse Educators. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, recruitment, and retention activities; ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum; professional development; scholarly activity; participation in program, college and university committees and other activities that benefit the Scholars program and WHC.
Education:
* Doctoral degree in Nursing, Education, or Healthcare Administration is required or in process with Chief Nurse Executive approval.
Experience:
* Five years' experience of progressively more responsible job related experience in Nursing, with at least two years of teaching experience in a BSN program. Experience in a nursing advanced practice role (education, clinical or administrative) is preferred
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
* A license as a registered nurse in the District of Columbia is required. Certification in the specialty area within 12 months of hire from a nationally recognized nursing organization. Nursing Professional Development or Nurse Educator certification required within 36 months of hire. BLS is required.
