We're looking for a new team member to support research operations in the Palo Alto area. We're looking for someone with a great customer service mindset, who has excellent organizational skills, and who come to work with a positive attitude ready to take on the day; ideal candidates will also have prior experience working in an industrial research laboratory and be familiar with shipping & receiving routines.

This role is full-time (40-hour/week) and located in the South San Francisco area (94301 zip code.)

Core Responsibilities

We are seeking a candidate to perform operational lab support duties which include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring relevant labware, consumables, supplies, and areas are properly stocked and maintained through inventory stocking, regular lab housekeeping, and ordering/documentation routines
  • Administrative support including performing inventory processes, vendor escort/communication, and supporting lab asset management
  • Performing lab Shipping & Receiving, including physical receipt and on-site delivery, and reconciliation in purchasing software
  • Ensuring work areas are clean, sterilized, and organized, through the use of appropriate equipment and workflows
  • Traveling between work locations in the Palo Alto area
  • Maintaining regular communication channels with Lab Services management, workgroup members, and other research personnel
  • Performing additional in-scope tasks as needed

Skills & Requirements
  • High-School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Preferred (but not required) work experience:
    • Familiarity (0-2 years) with the industrial or academic laboratory routines and environment
    • Customer service
    • Inventory and stocking
    • Shipping & Receiving
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, Office, Office 365, etc.)
  • Legally allowed to work in California
  • Available to work within the core business hours of 7AM to 6PM
    • Work hours are generally 8:30 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks including a driving record check and drug screen
  • Adherence to safety policies, including social distancing requirements before and during employment, in response to COVID-19
