Reporting to Director of R&D Product Chemistry the Senior Scientist will interact with a variety of scientists to further understand how our product chemistry relates to product performance. The ability to build trust and credibility with members of the product development functions is a must. It is expected that good laboratory practices are part of the ways of working.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Lead the polymer characterization efforts within the Product Chemistry group which includes building new capabilities where gaps exist
  • Utilize testing equipment to collect trace levels of nitrosamine in raw material and finished product
  • Maintain polymer characterization instrumentation
  • Engage in compatibility studies of polymer materials with low mass API's and other excipients
  • Incorporate new polymer material offering based on structure/property/process relations to increase stability and functionality of formulations
  • Communicate experimental results to technical and non-technical people alike
  • Influence formulation development through preformulation studies

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • PhD in Chemistry (specialization: Material Science, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry)
  • Training in chemistry principles
  • Experience with Size Exclusion Chromatography


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • 5 years experience PhD, 10 years experience with MSc.
  • Experience specifically working in a laboratory for trace analysis of compounds
  • Knowledge of polymer science
  • Experience solving unexpected technical issues in the product development process
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Ability to take risk with confidence, foster new technology and partner with others
