The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics in the College of Graduate Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank ofASSISTANT PROFESSOR,available in the 2022/2023 academic year. The 12-month position is supported by a competitive salary and benefit package, fully funded by the institution.Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with at least two years of postdoctoral experience and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching of future healthcare professionals. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

We are seeking outstanding individuals with research strengths addressing significant biological problems. Candidates with expertise in nutritional biochemistry, molecular biology, or genetics/genomics are especially encouraged to apply, but individuals with research interests in any other areas of biochemistry will also be considered. The successful candidate will participate in team-taught courses for health science students in biochemistry and related topics that may include cell biology, human genetics/genomics, metabolism, molecular biology and nutrition. This position involves a significant amount of teaching with highly motivated students, and at the same time offers the opportunity to develop a strong research program or to engage in other scholarly activities.

The successful candidate will also be expected todevelop and maintain an independent research program with the potential for attracting extramural funding. Midwestern University has an active research community with diverse interests that provide ample opportunity for collaborative research. A start-up package, office and research space, core facilities, and technical support will be provided by the institution.
