About the role:

We are looking for a Journals Publishing Assistant (JPA) to join the Food, Earth and Environmental Sciences team within our Research division. This role is a full-time position based in our Hoboken (New Jersey) office, though currently hybrid working arrangements as a result of COVID-19.

This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity build a successful career in publishing, and be an integral part of a valued, high performing team. Wiley is a global organization which offers international exposure, career progression and personal development.

How you will make an impact:
  • The JPA provides administrative support and editorial assistance to Journal Publishing Managers (JPMs) in the management of Wiley's Food, Earth, and Environmental Sciences publishing program, including partner-owned and proprietary journals, and supports the editorial development of this journal portfolio.
  • The JPA is responsible for managing and updating journal homepages, processing payments, organizing meetings and on-site events, updating information and databases, and preparing internal and external reports.

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency using Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Basic HTML skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-volume environment and effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented. Ability to work on projects independently under minimal supervision, quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • An interest in improving workflows and processes to drive forward business objectives.
  • A flexible, collaborative approach is essential - both for team efficiency and to deliver excellent service to Wiley's clients.
  • Publishing experience and knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • An interest in one of the following: Food Sciences, Earth Sciences, or Environmental Sciences is welcomed but not essential.
