Part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed term (2 years) Lecturer (Level B) position available immediately.

The Department of Politics and International Relations in the School of Social Sciences is seeking a Lecturer (Level B) in International Security or International Relations to join the team.

You will coordinate, teach, and mark Professor Joanne Wallis's teaching allocations for two years. As Professor Wallis's teaching load is 0.2 FTE, the number of students the candidate will be expected to tutor and mark for will be capped according to School of Social Sciences workload allocations, and assistance with tutorial coverage and marking will be provided.

To be successful you will need:
  • A PhD in Politics, International Relations, International Security, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in International Security or International Relations undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and experience in the preparation and delivery of lectures and tutorials.
  • The capacity to supervise graduate students' final research projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and collegial manner.
