About the Role:

In partnership with the Publisher, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of proprietary and society-owned portfolio of journals in the Food, Earth and Environmental Sciences subject discipline.

We are looking for a passionate Journals Publishing Manager with experience working in scholarly publishing, and a flair for managing relationships with journal editors, society leaders, and other stakeholders in the community. Your focus will be to identify opportunities for development and strategic growth for the portfolio and as an integral member of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team, you will be working collaboratively with highly-skilled colleagues to execute plans and initiatives related to the publishing portfolio.

Wiley brings a strong presence in the disciplines of food, earth and environmental Sciences, open access expertise, and an understanding of author communities. We publish a large portfolio of journals across these subjects, many of which are published in partnership with leading organizations and societies. We meet the interests of researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. Wiley is one of the top academic publishers with extensive experience in developing our journals strategic goals, through a combination of subject strength, and open access publishing expertise. How you will make an impact:
  • As a Journals Publishing Manager, you'll apply your skills and experience to manage and develop a portfolio of journals and maintain great working relationships with key external stakeholders
  • Highly driven and well-organized, you will have a strong focus on achieving goals, and a commitment to identifying and developing strategic opportunities to expand our portfolio
  • Represent Wiley and attend editorial board, society business and strategy meetings (virtual and in-person); present on Wiley capabilities and new initiatives, market developments and trends, and overall journal performance
  • You will make important contributions to the strategic development of our Food, Earth and Environmental Sciences portfolio and will be instrumental in providing excellent service to our authors, editors, and society partners
  • You will enjoy unrivaled scope to further develop your communication, presentation, and relationship building skills as you help implement Wiley's strategic vision to lead the transition to Open Access and to 're-invent' publishing for the future

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelors degree and 3+ years of publishing experience
  • Bring a working knowledge of journal publishing, trends, and business drivers, including open access
  • A proven track record of strong solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving; organized working style; excellent communication (written and oral) and relationship building skills, and enjoy connecting with people, both remotely and in person
  • Motivated by understanding the needs of researchers, and committed to delivering excellent service, aligned with strong business and financial acumen, and a collaborative approach
  • Interest or experience in the subject area of food, earth, and environmental sciences is a plus but not required

We are committed to fair, transparent pay, and we strive to provide competitive compensation in addition to a comprehensive benefits package. The target base pay range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000. This range represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
