Postdoctoral Scholar (Dr. Akkaya's Lab)

Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue specializes research training, education and experience in the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology in the Department of Internal Medicine; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; performs additional duties as assigned; guides and trains students and research staff; troubleshoots problems in the laboratory.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Doctoral degree in medicine, immunology, molecular, cellular and developmental biology, microbiology or other relevant fields required; experience in molecular biology or immunology preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
