The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a part time temporary hourly position to support scientific activities for the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory. This position will help perform testing including such tasks as: sample data entry, processing patient samples for testing, pipetting patient samples, setting up instrumentation for testing, maintaining laboratory records and assisting with reporting of laboratory results to customers. The position will be working in a BSL-2 environment with patient samples and must follow safety protocols related to infectious disease testing. Scheduling will include after-hour and weekend work. The candidate must be able to work independently.
Exposure to laboratory testing and infectious disease safety protocols is desirable.
