UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. We have about 150 deliveries a month and as a quaternary care hospital, we see a high percentage (70%) of high risk OB moms and neonates with medically complex co-morbidities. Labor and Delivery is part of our inpatient perinatal services, which includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum services. We are a certified WHO-Baby Friendly Hospital, sustained by a team of experienced bedside nurses and Lactation Consultants. Our Maternal-Infant patient population is ethnically and medically diverse. We have 24/7 in-house: Residents, Attending Generalist OBs and Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, OB Anesthesia. We staff according to AWHONN standards. Our Clinical Nurse Specialist initiates and supports evidence-based nursing practice and nursing practice excellence through process improvements, in cooperation with our Local practice Council of RNs from L&D, Mother/Baby and antepartum. We provide care for up to 14 antepartum patients, 9 L & D patients, 18 postpartum mother/baby pairs, and provide outpatient services when the high-risk Maternal Infant Care Clinic is closed.

SCHEDULE
90% nights, 12 hour night shifts.

REQUIREMENTS
At least one year of current/recent labor and delivery nursing experience.

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Washington State RN license required by start date.

UW Medicine includes Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center - Montlake, UW Medical Center - Northwest, Valley Medical Center, UW Neighborhood Clinics, UW Physicians, UW School of Medicine, and Airlift Northwest.
