From heart attack to stroke to gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accidents, or just fractured bones, ER nurses see it all. ER nurses learn to quickly triage patients based on immediate observation and acute assessment skills, then to treat symptoms in order of life-threatening priority.
\n\n \n\nAbout this unit:\n\n\n\tThe teamwork in our 23-bed department is excellent. \n\t100-120 patient visits daily \n\tOur shared governance council in the ED and the involvement of our staff in the shared governance in the hospital allow our nurses to truly impact the decisions that are made in the department and the overall hospital.\n\tBecause we are an accredited chest pain center, a comprehensive stroke center, and a level one trauma center we see some of the most complex patients that allow for an incredible learning environment for any nurse.\n\n\n \n\nResponsibilities: \n\n\n\tProvides nursing leadership for assessing, planning , implementing and evaluating patient care and safety in assigned areas of responsibility. \n\tCollaborates with physicians and other departments to coordinate the needs of patients and their families. \n\tManages resources in a fiscally responsible manner. \n\tSupports the mission and vision of the facility, division and company. \n\tAssures quality care through the initiation and evaluation of patient care utilizing performance improvement process. \n\n\n

Qualifications
\n\tCurrent state of Missouri RN or Compact licensure required. \n\tBLS and ALS certification required and maintained.\n\tEPNC (or PALS) required and TNCC or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) required within one year of hire.\n\tThree years previous clinical experience preferred.\n\n\n
